Personal tower

***********ARCHIVED POSTS************

Personal tower.

Heres an interesting thought.
If your county or town gets a wireless provider in to install AP's(access points), but instead of installing these AP's on actual 100 foot plus towers, the ISP puts the AP's on farm silos or tall building's(50 feet tall)..... And the end consumer is then forced to spend $500 to $1500 dollars on their own personal tower to mount the SM(subscriber modual). Is it fair to the consumer?
These ISP's should be mounting the AP's on their own dedicated towers. It can also reduce the number of towers as well, especially when the terrain and trees can block rooftop SM units from connecting to a tower that is too low..

Also the government agency that is funding these Wireless expansions in Ontario...

Notice in the linked page....
For the purposes of this program, broadband is defined as a high-capacity link between end user and access network suppliers at a minimum download speed of 1.5 megabits per second.
So does that mean if your Xplornet or other ISP's connection drops below 1.5Mbps, that they are in breach of the funding contract?
